Happy April! It’s hard to believe we’re just a mere 8 weeks away from summer. Crazy!
This time of the year always puts me into plan mode with summer camps, travel plans and planning fun summer traditions. I can’t wait!
It also motivates me to make a few tweaks to my daily habits so I can look and feel my best in my bathing suit this summer. I learned years ago that quick fixes, cleanses and diets don’t work for me. So, instead, I really hone down my daily habits and make them non-negotiable for the next 8 weeks.
Here’s what I will be doing:
Strength train 4x a week - I have created a personal progressive overload program with an upper body and lower body split.
Go for a run once a week - I love to run and always feel so good after. Sundays are my run days and I get up early and get it done before anyone else in my house is awake. It’s my favorite way to start my day!
Hit 100g of protein a day - when I hit my protein goal I find myself feeling more satiated and energized and less likely to snack.
Drink 60 oz of water a day - I’m actually not great at this so I have measured it out and will need to drink two of my Stanley water tumblers a day to reach this goal.
Sleep 7+ hours - this will allow my body to recover properly and the extra rest keeps me more motivated and energized to hit my goals.
Limit alcohol - as the weather warms up I’m more tempted to enjoy an adult beverage. But I notice when my alcohol consumption goes up it's harder for me to reach my fitness goals so I’m only going to drink socially for the next 8 weeks which will equate to one or two nights a week.
And that’s it! I have found by making those small changes and being consistent for 8 weeks straight I’m able to reach my fitness goals and maintain them (for the most part) for the summer.
What do you think? Want to join in? If that’s a yes, reply and let me know what your non-negotiables will be for the next 8 weeks and I will help keep you accountable!
